Qualifications in Land Registration Law and Practice
The Qualifications in Land Registration Law and Practice is a set of distance-learning courses.
It is run by Land Registry in partnership with the College of Law, the leading provider of legal education in the UK.
The partnership ensures academic integrity and professional delivery from the most authoritative sources possible.
Courses
Land Registry introduced the courses in September 2000.
Today, they are run at two levels (certificate and diploma).
The certificate is a one-year foundation course that provides a general introduction to property law, including the law and practice of land registration. The course is at A-level standard.
The diploma is a two-year course providing a comprehensive and detailed consideration of property law including the practice of land registration. The course is at degree level.
Benefits
- You and your team will be right up to date with land registration and property law, and with Land Registry's way of working.
- Your unqualified staff will handle instructions more confidently, needing less assistance, and getting greater job satisfaction.
- Your organisation can achieve improved quality, less outsourcing, and lower costs.
Accreditation for the diploma course
We are delighted to bring you news that, under the College of Law's degree awarding powers, approval has been granted for the diploma course to be accredited.
The diploma was approved in August 2009 by the College of Law's Academic Board for the commencement of the new course starting in September 2009.
Students who successfully complete both years of the course will be awarded a Graduate Diploma worth 80 credits at Honours Level.
Many higher education institutions accept credit from other institutions towards their degree programmes and, as The College of Law is a fully recognised provider of UK credits, it may be possible to use the diploma credits in this way.
